Kings Landing Historical Settlement was created after the damming of the St. John River for the Mactaquac Dam in the 1960s. Historic buildings that would have been underwater were moved and restored. The project took several years, and in the end, resulted in Kings Landing. Here, 100 years of Canada's history are represented, from the 1780s to 1910. This was a time of great transition, from the Loyalist to the Victorian era.
Nearly everyday, Kings Landing hustles and bustles with the flow of visitors and re-enactors bring the past to life. From music and dance, to lectures and tours, the 19th century come alive in Kings Landing. There are also special events throughout the year, such as Sugarbush weekend in March, with demonstrations of candy-making on the snow as well as pancake socials. In late May is opening weekend, and throughout the summer, visitors find a variety of special programs.

The King's Head Inn offers dishes from recipes that were served up circa 1855, and at this Kings Landing restaurant a wait staff serves them up in period costume.
